Turning Point Inspiration Story:
The turning point...it’s a point when a person realizes they are headed in the wrong direction.
Here, a traveler is driving on the left side of the road. In America, we go right. Ahead of them is a TURNING POINT - it’s at the foot of the cross where they can change directions. At the cross, they can choose to travel a new direction (repent - turn around). It’s where salvation can be found.
Charlie Kirk stands firm with a Bible in hand, sharing the truth- the word of God. He boldly invites the lost to reject the lies, and open their minds and hearts to the truth. There is no greater truth than salvation found in Jesus Christ alone. THAT IS THE TURNING POINT.
So many people are under a spirit of deception. Like the Pharisees of old, they can’t recognize the truth even while it sits right under their nose. That’s why Jesus calls those who know the truth to share the good news with others….so that they can repent (turn around) and receive it as well.
Our great nation of America, and it’s people need a turning point. We need leaders who are brave enough to stand in a crowd and declare the truth to those who are lost, so that they may be found.
“Repentance” refers to an event in which an individual attains a divinely provided new understanding of their behavior and feels compelled to change that behavior and begin a new relationship with God. The Hebrew word teshuvah (תְּשׁוּבָה), is translated as “repent” or “repentance”. In English this means to “return,” which basically means “to turn around and go in the opposite direction.” In other words, In English this is more accurately understood as TURNING BACK (shuv) to God. In Greek, the word repentance means “a change of mind”.
In theological contexts, the implication is to turn from a road characterized by rebellion toward God toward a road characterized by obedience. The emphasis is upon choosing to turn one’s orientation toward God.
Repentance appears to be a core message of Christian American Patriot Charlie Kirk and his organization, Turning Point USA. Charlie is arguably the most effective and skilled communicator when it comes to sharing truth and a conservative Christian worldview. Deceitful constructs have captured many young minds, yet Charlie (a warrior at battle for souls) stands as a lamp on a hill, salt and light that illuminates the right path - the path leading to righteousness and eternal life found in Jesus alone.
The turning point (or point of repentance) for all of God's children is at the foot of the cross. It is at the foot of the cross where we learn to “lean not on our own understanding”, but on God's word...the truth.
When the traveler in this painting reaches the foot of the cross…the “Turning point” will be a witness showing the way to repentance- the way to pick up your cross, and follow Jesus.
Jesus is the word of God manifested in the flesh, and He is the ONLY way…the right way…the Turning Point.
