"4th Man in the Fire" INSPIRATION STORY:
This painting is a reminder that no matter what fires we are walking through, if we are faithful to God, He will always help us walk through those flames to the other side.
In this life, God's word tells us we will be tested by fire. But if we put our faith and trust in Jesus and follow Him, we will stand the test of fire and be redeemed.
The gospels speak of a baptism in the "Holy Spirit and fire" which purifies the soul and removes corruption from those who submit to the Son of David.
The FIRE of God's Holy Spirit is illustrated as the one who convicts us of sin…..and also refines, sanctifies, and purifies us. The Holy Spirit is often called
"the fire of God". And the Bible talks about God's Divine protection as a "cloud of glory by day- and FIRE by night"
The Book of Daniel, chapter 3, tells a story of "the fourth man in the fire". It tells of three young Hebrew men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were thrown into a fiery furnace for refusing to worship a golden image set up by King Nebuchadnezzar. They boldly remained faithful to the God of the Bible- even in the face of a fiery death, and refused to worship a false idol.
When King Nebuchadnezzar looked into the furnace, he was surprised to see not three, but four men walking around in the fire unharmed, with the fourth resembling "the son of God"...Jesus. This was a foretelling in the Old Testament of the divine grace and protection of the one to come. Jesus.
Jesus is a redeemer. There's no sinner He can't save.
When you're in the fire, don't listen to the liars voice saying, you've gone too far away in your sin to receive God's grace and mercy. Instead, hear the voice of truth.
The voice of truth says, YOU ARE HIS JOY!
Hebrews 12:2 reads, "For the joy set before him, He (Jesus) endured the cross". YOU ARE HIS JOY BELOVED! He suffered and died for YOU. so that you can live for eternity with HIM,
When one sinner repents, ALL of heaven rejoices.
This story, of the 4th man in the fire, teaches us the value of accountable friendships and the strength that comes from standing together in faith.
Jesus came to set the captives free. Come and receive salvation in Him alone. He tests things with fire often refining us in this way. But His word promises that He will finish the good work He started. Just as a sword is heated up and hammered into shape before it's sharpened for battle. God can use any test to create a testimony to His glorious goodness and grace.
Come out of the fire.
You have been redeemed.
"Be still" and know that He is God.
Jesus will always be your 4th man in the fire.
